Learn to Lead

At Rocketship, we are committed to growing our leaders from within. Our robust leadership programs offer teachers the opportunity to grow their management and leadership skills to take their career and their impact to the next level and beyond.

Rising Leaders Program

The Rising Leaders program is an opportunity for professional development in personal leadership skills, effective management frameworks, and mindsets that are essential to your current and future role at Rocketship. Rising Leaders learn as a part of a community of dedicated individuals who are ready to reflect on and grow their own leadership in order to prepare themselves for the next step in their personal leadership pathway. The program is ideal for any educator interested in developing as a Teacher Leader, considering School Leadership in the next 1-2 years, or considering another network role such as a Business Operations Manager at a school site or Network Support Team (NeST) role.

Are you ready to rise?
Through monthly workshops and school visits, teachers will build their leadership skills in their work as classroom teachers, reflect on the strengths and areas for development in their own leadership and build strong collaborative relationships among teacher leaders across campuses.

Teachers selected for the program have 2+ years of teaching experience, a high track record of student achievement and some formal or informal leadership experience. They demonstrate our core characteristics and are committed to learning and collaborating with others.

School Leader Incubator Program

Participants in our School Leader Incubator Program serve as Assistant Principals in our Elementary schools while receiving training in instructional leadership. Reporting directly to the principal, Assistant Principals (APs) play a critical role in driving academic achievement for students and building a rigorous college preparatory environment. APs ensure academic excellence by working closely with the principal to lead and implement the instructional vision for 1-3 grade levels. They also directly manage and coach the educators in their grade levels.
Want to be an all-star administrator?
APs meet with their principal weekly and receive 8+ hours of monthly professional development, specifically focused on their coaching needs. By conducting observation cycles, modeling lessons, co-planning lessons, real-time coaching, and providing support and resources, APs help the teachers in their grade levels (3-9 instructional staff members) excel as educators. As cultural and community leaders for their grade levels, they build teacher capacity in culture, discipline, and parent engagement.
